Terms of Use

Last updated: September 23, 2026

Translations of these terms are provided for convenience. The English version is the binding one.

Welcome to Linof. These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Linof ("linof.ai", "we", "us") for using our website and app. They're written to be read: the short box at the top of each section is a plain-words summary, and the full text underneath is the agreement.

By creating an account or using Linof, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1.What Linof does

In short: You bring photos and home videos; we use AI to turn them into a short memory film you can watch, download, and share.

Linof lets you upload family photos and home videos and turns them into a short "memory film": AI services analyze your uploads to find the best moments, restore and enhance them, animate selected photos, and assemble everything with music into a finished film you can watch, download, and share. The AI services involved are named in our Privacy Policy.

Current upload formats and limits: photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP) up to 25 MB each, and videos (MP4) up to 500 MB each. These may change as the service evolves.

We keep improving Linof, which means features may be added, changed, or removed over time. If a change materially reduces something you have already paid for, we'll tell you and put it right — with a credit or a refund.

2.Your account

In short: Be at least 13, use your real email, and keep your sign-in to yourself.

To use Linof you need an account. You can sign in with an email code, or through Google or Facebook.

  • You must be at least 13 years old — or the higher minimum age your country's law sets — to create an account.
  • Give us accurate account information, and keep it up to date.
  • Your account is personal: keep access to it to yourself, and everything done through it is your responsibility.
  • If you think someone else has gotten into your account, tell us right away at info@linof.ai.

3.Your content stays yours

In short: Your photos, videos, and films are yours. You give us just enough permission to make and deliver your films — nothing more.

You own everything you upload to Linof and everything we generate from it for you. We claim no ownership of your content, ever.

To run the service, you give us a limited permission (a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license) to host, store, copy, analyze, enhance, edit, and adapt your uploads; to generate films from them; and to display and deliver your content to you and to the people you share a film link with. This permission exists solely to operate, provide, and improve the service, and it extends to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy for exactly those jobs and nothing else.

The permission ends when your content is deleted from Linof — except that a film you've created keeps its permission until the film itself is deleted, because your photos are baked into it.

We never sell your content, never use it for advertising, never publish it, and never use it to train AI models.

4.What you promise about your uploads

In short: Upload only what you have the right to share — music included — and make sure the people in your photos would be OK with it.

You promise that you own the content you upload or have permission to use it, and that the people appearing in it — or a parent or guardian, for children — are OK with it being uploaded and made into a film, especially if you plan to share that film.

Music you add yourself. If you upload your own soundtrack for a film, you promise you have the right to use that recording — because you made it, because you own it, or because you hold a licence that covers using it this way. Commercial music almost never qualifies: a song you bought, streamed, or downloaded is licensed to you for listening, not for putting into a film you keep or share. Please don't upload it.

Never upload content that:

  • is illegal, or promotes anything illegal;
  • is sexually explicit or pornographic;
  • harasses, threatens, demeans, or humiliates anyone;
  • is violent or hateful;
  • infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
  • is a commercial music recording you don't hold the rights to use this way; or
  • contains malware or is designed to deceive.

We may refuse to process content that breaks these rules, label it, leave it out of generated films, or — in serious cases — remove it, and we may suspend accounts for serious or repeated violations.

A film that carries your own soundtrack is never shown in our public gallery. That happens automatically — you don't have to ask for it. You remain responsible for the film wherever you choose to share it yourself, and if a rights holder contacts us we may mute the film, remove it, or close the account (sections 12 and 13).

5.AI processing and automated review

In short: AI makes your film. Automated checks may flag sensitive content. A human answers if you disagree.

By using Linof, you're asking us to process your uploads with the AI services described in our Privacy Policy. AI is powerful but imperfect: analysis may misjudge a photo, an animation may look odd, a film may make choices you'd have made differently. Section 6 explains what we promise about results.

Uploads may also be reviewed automatically for sensitive or explicit content. A flagged photo may be labeled in your library or left out of a generated film — we don't delete your photos. If you think something was flagged unfairly, email us and a person will review it.

Our AI providers may also decline to process certain content under their own safety rules. If that stops your film from being generated, your credit is returned automatically (section 7).

6.Your film

In short: The film is yours to keep, share, and enjoy — forever, on any plan.

Every film we generate from your content is yours. To the fullest extent we can, we give you all rights we have in your finished films — watch them, download them, share them, keep them forever, on any plan. Your films are yours to use as you like, subject only to other people's rights in what appears in them.

About quality, honestly: we work hard to make every film beautiful, but AI results vary and taste is personal, so we can't guarantee you'll love every film. What we do guarantee: if processing fails, your credit (or free film) comes back automatically — you never pay for a film you didn't get.

Films you download are yours forever, independent of Linof.

7.Credits, subscriptions, and payments

In short: Credits never expire. Failed films are refunded automatically. Dodo Payments handles payments as our merchant of record. Cancel subscriptions anytime. 30-day money-back guarantee.

  • Credits never expire. One credit creates one film.
  • If processing fails, you're refunded automatically — the credit (or your free film) is returned.
  • Payments are processed by Dodo Payments on Dodo's secure pages, as our merchant of record — Dodo is the seller on your receipt and handles tax and refunds on our behalf. Your card number goes to Dodo, never to us.
  • Prices are shown excluding tax. Any VAT, GST, or sales tax that applies where you live is calculated and added at checkout.
  • Prices may change, but never retroactively for something you already bought.
  • Subscriptions renew each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime, effective at the end of the current period.

30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy with a purchase, email info@linof.ai within 30 days of buying it, with your account's email address, the date of the purchase and what went wrong. We refund the full amount to your original payment method, even if you have already used the credits to make films. Refunds are paid by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days. The credits from a refunded purchase are removed from your account.

We may decline a request that looks like abuse of this guarantee, for example repeated refund requests across purchases. The guarantee is in addition to any cancellation or withdrawal rights the consumer law of your country gives you, not instead of them.

If your bank opens a payment dispute (a chargeback), creating new films may be paused on your account while the dispute is resolved.

8.Storage and deletion

In short: We keep your uploads so you can come back anytime. Delete films in the app; delete your account in Settings, with 30 days to change your mind.

We keep your uploaded photos and videos while your account is active, so you can return and make more films whenever you're ready. The full retention details are in our Privacy Policy.

You can delete any film in the app at any time — its video file and share page are removed right away.

To delete your account, open Settings → Delete account: we show you exactly what will be deleted, ask you to type your email address to confirm, and then schedule it. Nothing is erased for 30 days — your subscription stops renewing, but every page in the app carries a Restore account link, and one tap brings your films, photos, and credits back exactly as you left them. After 30 days we permanently delete your uploads, films, drafts, unused credits, and account details, and that step can't be undone. We email you when the deletion is scheduled and again when it's done. You can also ask us by email at info@linof.ai from your account's address.

9.Linof is not a backup service

In short: Keep your originals. Always.

Please never treat Linof as the only copy of anything. Keep your original photos and videos safe in your own storage, and download the films you care about. We look after your files carefully, but we are not an archive or backup service, and we can't accept liability for lost content — your originals should always live safely with you.

10.Sharing films

In short: Anyone with a film's link can watch it. Share thoughtfully, and respect films that others share with you.

Film share pages are visible to anyone who has the link (see our Privacy Policy). You decide who gets a link — choose people you trust, and remember that anyone with the link can pass it on. Delete a film if you no longer want it reachable.

If someone shares their film with you, respect their family's privacy: don't republish or redistribute someone else's memory film without their OK.

11.Our service and what belongs to us

In short: Everything that isn't your content — the software, design, and brand — belongs to Linof.

Everything on Linof that isn't your content — the software, the site, the design, the brand, the text — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app under these Terms.

Please don't copy, resell, or scrape the service, reverse-engineer it, probe its security, use it to build a competing dataset, or overload it. Don't try to work around usage limits.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them freely to improve Linof — that's the nicest thing you could do with them.

13.Ending things

In short: Leave anytime. We only close accounts for serious reasons — and we'll tell you why.

You can stop using Linof at any time, and you can have your account and content deleted as described in section 8. Films you've downloaded remain yours forever.

We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated violations of these Terms, because the law requires it, or if the service is discontinued. Where reasonably possible, we'll warn you first and explain why, and give you the chance to download your films.

Any parts of these Terms that by their nature should survive — your ownership of your content, our limits of liability, and the dispute rules — survive the end of the agreement.

14.Honest limits of what we promise

In short: We do our best. We can't promise perfection, and the service is provided "as is".

Linof is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that AI results will be free of mistakes or artifacts.

To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties implied by law. Nothing in these Terms takes away consumer rights that the law of your country says cannot be waived.

15.Liability

In short: Our responsibility is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. Your legal consumer rights always remain.

To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or lost data — see section 9 about keeping your originals), and our total liability for all claims arising from the service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

We do not exclude or limit liability where the law doesn't allow it — including for our own intentional misconduct or gross negligence — and your statutory consumer rights remain intact.

In turn, you are responsible for claims that arise because content you uploaded broke these Terms or someone else's rights.

16.Governing law and disputes

In short: Talk to us first — we solve almost everything by email.

If we have a disagreement, contact us first at info@linof.ai — we'll make a genuine effort to resolve it with you within 30 days. Almost everything gets solved this way.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of Linof is established, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies to you instead. Disputes that can't be resolved between us go to the courts that are competent under those rules.

17.Changes to these Terms

In short: These Terms will change over time. We'll tell you before a meaningful change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page is the version that binds you.

Linof keeps evolving, so these Terms will change from time to time — when we add or retire features, when upload limits or prices move, or when the law asks us to. The version on this page is always the current one, and the date at the top is when it took effect.

How we'll tell you. When a change is meaningful — anything that affects your rights, your content, what you pay, or how we handle your films — we'll let you know before it takes effect: a notice in the app, an email to your account's email address, or both. That email is a service message about your agreement with us, so it reaches you whether or not you've opted in to marketing emails. Small changes that don't affect your rights — a typo, clearer wording, a new feature described — take effect when we publish them, with the date at the top updated.

When a change takes effect. A meaningful change takes effect at least 14 days after we notify you, so you have time to read it and decide. If a change in the law, or a security or safety problem, forces us to move faster, we'll say so and explain why.

Accepting the new version. If you keep using Linof on or after the effective date, the updated Terms apply to you. If you don't agree with a change, stop using the service before that date and delete your account (section 8). A change never applies retroactively to something you already did or already paid for — and if one would materially reduce something you have paid for, section 1 still stands: we'll tell you and put it right, with a credit or a refund.

Earlier versions are available on request at info@linof.ai.

18.The fine print, and how to reach us

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Linof. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we don't enforce a part of these Terms at some moment, that doesn't mean we've given it up. You may not transfer this agreement to someone else; we may transfer it as part of a change in how Linof is run or owned, with your rights and protections intact.

Questions about these Terms: info@linof.ai. A real person reads it.
